Azathoth burns again

Day 280 of 365 in the “Marathon of the Dope” . . .

.....................................................................................................

The last go around in Arkham saw our intrepid investigators going up against that burning world-devourer - Azathoth.

The doom track is pretty long with this old one, but once your time is up, well, let’s just say wearing shades isn’t going to help you much.

Try as we might, there was just no way to close all the gates in time. We were one step away from seeing the Dunwich horror enter play and we already had to deal with one swirling monster-spewing vortex unleashed from Kingsport.

Oh, and the rumour card we had to deal with, sacrificing about 80 percent of our magic and mundane items, pretty much sealed out doom.

So, overall, it was another great game!

And did I hear correctly that another expansion, Innsmouth, is coming out soon and will add yet another partial board? I mean, the size of all the expansions already threatens huge tables. With Innsmouth, well, looks like the floor will be the only way to play them all. I guess the idea is to not use all the expansions for future games - but what is the fun in that?

I think it would be nice for FF to just come out with a card only expansion playable with any configuration. I guess those would be mini-expansions, of which there are already three.

Still, this is an excellent game to spend time playing with friends.

Get it.

Play it.

Be devoured.

Until tomorrow . . .
