day of the turkey again

Day 47 of 365 in the “Marathon of the Dope” . . .

.....................................................................................................

Well yesterday we consumed turkey - today, here in Canada, we get to vote for one.

Our riding doesn’t even have an NDP candidate this year, not that I would have voted for him/her/it anyhow.

Still, don’t cast your vote = shut up and live with the consequences of your apathy.

And speaking of turkeys, yesterday's bird was pretty good but too large. Much meat left over which means soup, casserole, sandwiches and the classic - turkey surprise and the eventual burnout of turkey related meals.

Good thing we do this silly ritual only once per year and share it with friends. Too bad you couldn’t buy, say, half a turkey, or a quarter turkey in stores. I know you can get just the breast if you want, but I like the dark meat as well.

So, you think the half turkey idea would catch on?

Probably not - no place to put the stuffing.

Now, I have to strategize (don’t you just love our modern butchered language?) ways to lose the five pounds I put on yesterday.

Maybe I’ll just eat lettuce and grapes for a week - that might help.

Or follow the age old weight lose plan guaranteed to work which is, eat less and exercise more.

Time to make my lunch.

One guess as to what is going to be in it - for the next ten days . . .

Until tomorrow . . .
